Drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day...It’s not important to drink lots of water – any beverage will do.

Wear sunscreen... Sunscreen is bad for you.

Organically grown foods are more nutritious...Organically grown foods aren’t worth the extra money you’ll pay for them.

Coffee...No coffee.

Vaccinations...

Flouride...

It’s a jungle out there.

A jungle of information.

One day you’ll read research touting the benefits of a certain substance. The next you’ll read research saying that there are “issues” with that substance and that you shouldn’t take it.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve not figured it all out.

But I’ll admit that

I’m passionate about health.

I read about it... I study it...I live it.

For me there’s no way to live but the healthy way.

So, what’s healthy?

Well, when you read the headline “Half of All Overweight Adults May be Heart-Healthy,” it can be confusing.

This article describes a study in which it was found that half of the overweight adults studied had good cholesterol, blood sugar, triglyceride and blood pressure levels, while a quarter of those at a healthy weight had unhealthy levels in two of those four areas.

In this blog I’ll help you navigate the maze of information about health. I’ll share with you what I’ve discovered and what works for me and others I’ve coached.

Here are some conclusions I’ve reached:

  • If your health is good, it is worth the effort to preserve it.
  • If your health isn’t what it should be, it’s worth taking steps to restore it.
  • Exercise is vital for staying healthy and even for people who are already at a healthy weight.
